Sentence Handed Down in Gibson Co. Murder Case

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn.- The Gibson County man who pleaded guilty in July to murdering his father’s killer has been sentenced. According to the Gibson County Circuit Court Clerk’s office, Don Taylor will serve 25 years in prison on the second degree murder charge. He was also sentenced to six years each on two aggravated assault charges, with all of the charges running concurrently. Taylor admitted to shooting and killing Darnell Gentry in 2009. Gentry confessed to killing Taylor’s father back in 1990.
