Hardeman County celebrates opening of new healthcare facility

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — The Hardeman County Community Health Center is expanding their services and celebrating the dedication of their new facility.

The new Hardeman County Women and Children’s Clinic opened for operation Friday morning. According to the facility’s Chief Executive Officer, Marlita White, it has been in the works as early as 2001. This initial expansion is to supports their mission to provide access to the highest standard of medical care.

“It’s a great day here in Bolivar. I’m excited for Hardeman County and the resources that they’re bringing to our community. The Hardeman Community Health Center has always been a great partner for our community and this is just an exciting day that they can access more services to what they already provide,” said Mayor McTizic.

The new facility is a little over 7,000 square feet. As a part of an established healthcare facility under the umbrella of the federally qualified health centers, the clinic will provide more focused and managed care.

“We’re going to be providing prenatal and postnatal care, pediatrics services, wellness programs. We’re going to working with community partners whether it be with Pampered Pantries, or any type of resources that we can provide whether it’s milk, baby clothes. Whatever we can do in order to help service those women in this community, that’s what we’re going to do,” said White.

According to International Medical Relief, The benefits of investing in women and children extend beyond population health and can also increase the economic prosperity, strengthen social bonds and improve community resilience.

“This is going to be a great thing for the citizens here because these services right now, they have to travel to Jackson or maybe Memphis. Outside of our county, but now they can get these services here at home so it’s an exciting day for Bolivar,” said Mayor McTizic.

The hope is to offer more through medical evaluations and care for its patients that surpasses what the center already provides to women and children.

“If you’re looking for healthcare services please come to Hardeman County Community Health Center, Stanton Health Center, and Henderson Health Center,” said White.

According to Mayor McTizic, no matter your current insurance carrier, they will still provide service you. They encourage everyone to put their health first.
