Ribbon cutting coming soon for Isaiah 117 House in Gibson County

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn. — An upcoming Isaiah 117 House will be the first in West Tennessee. The home is currently being built in Gibson County.

The Isaiah 117 House started in 2017 in east Tennessee and now 41 states have reached out to start one.

The house will be a home for foster children who are waiting for placement.

They will be able to play, sleep in a warm bed, take a bath, get an outfit, and more.

The house goes by all DCS state laws and rules and will accept kids from birth to 18 years old.

“Currently, when a child is removed from their home, they go to the DCS office to wait for placement. Sometimes they’re there an hour, or sometimes it’s longer so currently in West Tennessee we do not have a location or a home like what we are building,” said Jennifer Milam.

A ribbon cutting date will be announced soon.
