CDC recommends updated Covid, flu vaccines for Fall
JACKSON, Tenn. — As summer ends, it’s time to start preparing for respiratory illness season.
The CDC recommends that anyone six months and older get the flu vaccine and the updated Covid vaccine.
If you’re an older adult or pregnant woman, you may also be eligible for the RSV vaccine. It’s safe to get multiple vaccines at once for convenience.
If you have symptoms like a runny nose or cough, get tested with an over the counter test or PCR test.
“We’re in full swing with schools opening. We’ve got fall and holiday season just around the corner. This is a great time for you and your family to get protected, to get your recommended vaccines ahead of when these viruses start to circulate,” said Anita Patel, PharmD.
If you do test positive for flu or Covid, your pharmacist can help determine which medication is right for you.
Plus, they can help you select over the counter products to assist with symptoms.
