Man injured in accidental discharge at Sam’s Club parking lot

JACKSON, Tenn. — A heavy first responder presence at a popular business raised concerns in the Hub City Wednesday evening.

Several Jackson Police and Fire vehicles could be seen in the parking lot of Sam’s Club located on Emporium Drive.

According to the Jackson Police Department, a man who is licensed to carry accidentally discharged his firearm inside his personal vehicle.

Police say the man suffered what appeared to be a non-life-threatening injury, and was immediately attended to by responding officers.

JPD confirms he was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
