2024 Hub City Innovation Cup kicks off at Union University
JACKSON, Tenn. — The 2024 High School Hub City Innovation Cup held their kickoff event Friday.
Hosted at Union University, the event involves area high schoolers in thinking about important community problems.
Jackson-Madison County Schools sent teams of students who have 24 hours to come up with an innovative solution.
They are given their prompt, brainstorm and will present to judges tomorrow.
“The students like being trusted with a important issue that’s facing our community, they like to be asked and often they bring such unique ideas to the table that we, as adults, maybe not even think about so that’s why we want to give them the reins, kind of, to think of new solutions,” said Colene Trent, event coordinator for the Hub City Innovation Cup.
The top three teams will win cash prizes as well as scholarships to Union University.
