First Baptist Church Bemis hosts Trunk or Treat event

JACKSON, Tenn.—A local church offers children a safe way to celebrate the spooky season.

First Baptist Church in Bemis presented a Trunk or Treat today.

The event began at 3 this afternoon at the church located at 116 Bemis Lane.

With over 25 vehicles set to participate in the trunk or treat, there was no shortage of candy.

The church also hosted a drawing for the participating “trunks” to win food from Diddy’s BBQ.

“Our members put their trunks in. They decorate. They donate lots and lots of candy and it’s just a way for us to open up, to meet people, to show the love of Jesus hands and feet, smiles so that they can know this is a place of warmth, friendship and the love of Christ,” said Amanda Chaney, Youth and Children’s Director.

The free trunk or treat was provided by volunteers and members of the church.
