Kirkland Cancer Center to hold free lung cancer screening event
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Kirkland Cancer Center’s first lung cancer screening event is coming up.
The screening will be Saturday, November 9 starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the imaging center on 300 Coatsland Drive in Jackson. Screening is a proactive step to help detect any potential issues early and ensure your overall well-being is in good shape. There are several qualifications for this event.
First, participants must be 50 or older.
“The second one is a ’20 pack year’ which means you’ve smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years. It could be two packs a day for ten, half a pack for forty and then you’re either currently still smoking or have quit within the last 15 years,” said Elizabeth Newman, marketing and community outreach manager.
Also, you must have no other new symptoms such as a new cough, a changing cough, or coughing up blood.
To schedule an appointment for this screening call 731- 541-1742.
