Jackson City Council meets for agenda review ahead of next monthly meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. — City leaders in the Hub City gathered to talk items on the agenda ahead of next Tuesday’s Jackson City Council meeting.
Members of the Agenda Review Committee met with councilmen and other city leaders at the Jackson City Hall.
One of the items discussed was the transferring of funds from bike and pedestrian infrastructure to help provide security for the new animal care center site that was recently vandalized.
Along with that, the council also welcomed Nathan Reed as the new city recorder. City leaders also talked about having a bond counsel to consider a plan for pending debt issue. There was also talk of adding an anti-camping ordinance.
“It’s just an ordinance that would make camping on public property illegal. Police have the right to remove the people. Of course, they’re going to use common sense in doing this. But, it’s only on public property, so not any tents can be put up or anything like that,” said City Councilman Larry Lowrance.
The Jackson City Council will meet for their regular monthly meeting next Tuesday, November 5 at Jackson City Hall at 9 a.m.
