Health department’s ‘Fight Flu Round 2’ event kicks off Nov. 7
JACKSON, Tenn. — If you missed the Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department’s annual “Fight Flu” clinic in October, don’t worry! “Fight Flu Round 2” will take place Thursday, November 7.
On this day, the health department will provide free flu vaccines to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or while supplies last.
No appointment is needed. The health department is located at 804 North Parkway in Jackson.
“Getting vaccinated now is a really good idea because it takes about two weeks after getting the flu shot to be fully protected from the flu, so getting vaccinated now in early November is gonna have you ready for Thanksgiving and gonna help prevent the spread of flu as we start to have all these holiday gatherings,” said Ginger Rowsey, public information officer for Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department.
All Tennesseans who are six months and older are eligible to get the flu vaccine.
