Jackson Central-Merry football coach receives Giraffe Award
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local award celebrates those in the community who stick their necks out for others.
The Giraffe Award was presented to Jackson Central-Merry’s Head Football Coach Erit Turner.
The event was held outside of Jackson Central-Merry High School earlier Friday. Students, athletes, faculty and the band were present to celebrate how Coach Turner serves his students. Turner stated that it’s an honor to be recognized by the community.
He also shares he loves to help, so education and football together give him the opportunity to help kids and build relationships.
“Being a, like I said, 2005 graduate being able to come back to my school and just give back to the students from the same community that I grew up in means the world to me,” said Turner.
Turner also encourages the community to support students to make sure they get everything they need.
