30th Separate Armored Brigade Association holds annual meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — The 30th Separate Armored Brigade Association held it’s annual meeting Thursday evening at the Double Tree Hotel.

The unit was part of the Tennessee Army National Guard with its headquarters in Jackson from 1973 through 1997.

The special guest speaker was Major General Warner Ross, who was the Tennessee National Guard adjutant general.

Major General Ross spoke of the accomplishments of the Tennessee National Guard and how. As a young soldier, he looked up to many of the leaders in the guard who are now retired and part of the association.

“This is a group of retired Tennessee National guardsmen, out of the 30th Separate Armored Brigade. That unit no longer exists. But these are alumni from that group. They’re proud warriors — soldiers in service of our state. For me, these are my mentors and the people that invested time and energy in me as a young soldier,” said Major General Warner Ross, 77th adjutant general with the Tennessee National Guard.

Entertainment for the association meeting was provided by the Memphis Jones Trio from Memphis.
