Beam signing ceremony held at Jackson Senior Activity Center
JACKSON, Tenn. — Members of the City of Jackson, Tennessee Commission on Aging took part in a beam singing ceremony at the new Jackson Senior Activity Center Wednesday.

In addition to the Tennessee Commission on Aging, Tennessee Parks and Rec and Jackson City Mayor Scott Conger were present. The center is a place for seniors to be around other people. Community and activity is essential to health.
Participants share that this center is a world of opportunity to help seniors in Jackson and Madison County.
“We will have a gymnasium for activities. We’ll be able to do ceramics and crafts. We’ll have education and technology and that was one of the things with the commission of aging that they asked us for what services do we want,” said Michelle Baldwin, commissioner for Jackson, Tennessee Commission on Aging.
This was not the grand-opening of the center; that event will be held at a later date.
