Family gives back in raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
SAVANNAH, Tenn.–One local family helps to pay it forward after receiving care at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
In 2021, Melanie Cromwell’s daughter Bailey was diagnosed with cancer and received chemotherapy treatment as a patient at St. Jude.
So to give back, Melanie and ‘Team Bailey’ partnered with Gillis Power Sports in Savannah.
Tickets were sold at the Hardin County Fair and other events for a chance to win a Polaris Ranger 570 side-by-side, resulting in thousands
being raised for treatment and research for St. Jude.
“Because Boyce and his team here at Gillis was able to do this, we were able to raise over $21,000. We looked at that is enough to save one child’s life with their chemotherapy treatments at St. Jude, so that’s kind of a big thing, it’s a big deal..be able to..that’s the amount of chemotherapy my daughter took while she was at St. Jude,” said Melanie Cromwell, whose daughter Bailey was treated for cancer at St. Jude.
