Family continues longtime Christmas display tradition in Darden
DARDEN, Tenn. — Christmas is inching closer and West Tennesseans have been putting up their Christmas lights and decorations weeks in advance to show their holiday spirit.
Take the Wood family of Darden for instance. Henderson County District 3 Commissioner Aaron Wood and his family puts on this drive-thru light display in Darden. The family says thus holiday tradition had been going on for more than 30 years.
“Somebody told me that it was backed up all the way to the highway, I cant’ believe that but, lot of traffic, very possible,” said Wood.
The family says the lights are turned on at 5 p.m. each night through December 29. The drive-thru is free, but there’s is a donation box for contributions.
