Ring in the new year with downtown Jackson’s free firework celebration
JACKSON, Tenn. — A new event is being held in downtown Jackson to celebrate the upcoming holiday.
Christmas may be in the rear view mirror, however, New Year’s Eve is just around the corner. With it falling on a Tuesday this year, many people may not be able to travel like they may want. So, the City of Jackson has come up with a wonderful idea for people to enjoy.
It is called ‘Midnight Lights: Sky Murals Over Downtown.‘ It is going to occur at midnight in downtown Jackson.

The actual address is 345 West Main Street. That is near the fork on Airways Boulevard. Of course, admission will be free to attend for anyone that decides to show up.
According to a post, the free, family-friendly event will light up the historic downtown skyline with a specially designed fireworks display, creating dazzling light murals that will be unforgettable for all who attend.
Jackson Fire Chief Don Friddle says that JFD firefighters will be onsite to establish a secure perimeter and direct attendees to the best viewing spots. Chief Friddle also said that they will be offering an expanded safety zone to allow more people to enjoy the event.
Also, many local establishments around the downtown area have events, special menus and many other exciting things going on this night. This gives people the opportunity to have a full evening filled with fun.
Habitat for Humanity is also kicking off their own party nearby at Hub City Brewing.
Their ‘Dream Builders New Year’s Eve Disco Party and Lip Sync Battle‘ will begin at 9 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door, or at a discounted price online ahead of time. Click here for more details.
