Community members gather to celebrate Isaiah 117 Day

ALAMO, Tenn. — January 17 marks Isaiah 117 Day! This year’s theme is ‘Connect. Reflect. Pray.’

Isaiah 117 House is a nonprofit that provides support for children awaiting placement. Leaders with Isaiah 117 House gathered with community members for a special time of prayer earlier Friday.

Prayer was held in Gibson, Dyer, and Crockett County. Officials with Isaiah 117 say it is a time to reflect on what the Lord has done and to pray for foster children, child welfare workers and foster families.

Bethany Luckey, care coordinator for Isaiah 117 House shares why the nonprofit exists.

“To lighten the load of the caseworkers, our DCS caseworkers, to reduce trauma for children on the day that they’re removed from their parents and entering foster care, and to lighten the load and ease the transition into foster care for those children as well and their families that are taking them on as foster children,” said Luckey.

This day of prayer will be a yearly event in all three counties. To learn more about Isaiah 117 House, click here.
