JACKSON, Tenn. — A local sports team makes history.
Jackson Careers and Technology Middle School’s Girls Basketball team is headed to the state championship in Murfreesboro.
They are the first Jackson-Madison County middle school to qualify for the TMSAA state tournament.
The school had a pep rally Thursday morning to celebrate.
Middle school girls basketball head coach, Erica Oliver, shares that it’s amazing to see the growth in the team.
“This is something new for everybody, including myself,” Oliver said. “We’ve never done anything like this, so we are excited to go out and showcase what we have put in the work to do this season.”
The team heads to Murfreesboro Friday morning.
There will also be a pep bus with parents to encourage them on their journey.
