Rural Development Grants Awarded in Humboldt and Milan

GIBSON COUNTY, Tenn.-There is good news for Gibson County residents as the USDA announced two grants for two separate cities through its Rural Development program. In all, the money totals more than $30,000. The money will go toward purchasing computers and software. The city of Milan will get a separate grant for $13,000, which will help with reconstruction of downtown Milan. “I’m thrilled and I appreciate any help I can get and USDA has been so good to Milan and they’re just a good friend to us,” said Milan Mayor Chris Crider. The city of Humboldt also received a more than $15,000 grant. The money will go toward computers and improving local businesses.
