Road closure announced following detection of ruptured gas line

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Energy Authority has detected a leak in an 8-inch pipeline at Highway 45 South and the South Fork of the Forked Deer River.

According to the Jackson Police Department, drivers should expect the outside southbound lane of Highway 45 South at the South Fork of the Forked Deer River to be closed for approximately 24 to 48 hours.

JEA and Tennessee Department of Transportation crews are on scene working to repair the leak as quickly as possible.

JPD also warns drivers to expect the possibility of both southbound lanes to close intermittently to ensure the safety of all crews working to resolve the issue.
