Local choir prepares to perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall
MILAN, Tenn.– A choir from a local school district is preparing to showcase its talents on the national stage.
The choir from the Milan Special School District is excited to be a part of an upcoming performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The choir will present an afternoon of extraordinary choral music on Sunday, May 11, at 1 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, featuring the renowned New England Symphonic Ensemble.
Tuesday, the choir held a practice at Milan Middle School.
Director and teacher Paige Wilson says being asked to perform at Carnegie Hall is quite an honor.
“With all the work that I’ve done to help the kids prepare and to fundraise and all the things I’ve done, I know it’s gonna be worth it and that’s what I keep telling myself and I know that it is something that I’m never gonna forget and I can’t wait,” said Wilson.
The Milan Special School District will be joined by Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Chorus, Choral Arts of Chattanooga and Brighton Choir from Brighton.
