Local church hosts annual ‘Cross Walk’
MILAN, Tenn. — One event returns to draw attention to the true meaning behind Easter.
First General Baptist Church held it’s annual ‘Cross Walk’ Friday. Participants walked from the Milan McDonald’s to the church located at 1039 Frank Street. Along the route, a member portrayed Jesus carrying the cross to Golgotha to be crucified while being threatened by roman guards.
There was also a crowd of people with signs to raise awareness of the true meaning of Easter.
“I’m all for spreading the love of Jesus and any way we can do it, whether it be the Cross Walk or just speaking with someone, knowing that these people are willing to back me and do this, it means the world to me,” said Sandra Lee, member of First General Baptist Church.
This is the church’s 18th year presenting the Cross Walk.
