“Since 1940, our school’s faculty, staff and student body have seen fit to honor those students who embody the qualities and ideas embedded within the mission of our school,” Director of Alumni Engagement Chris Ramey said. “These individuals have been selected because of their influence, involvement, leadership and academic ability.”
Mr. FHU, Campbell Scott, is the son of FHU alumni Chad and Ramonda Scott and is majoring in biology with a minor in ministry. Throughout his time as a student, he has served as mission chair for the Xi Chi Delta social club, community service representative for the Phi Kappa Alpha social club, counselor for Mid-South Youth Camp, Makin’ Music cast member and a member of the Alpha Chi honor society. His future plans include attending a three-year master’s program to become a physician assistant.
Concerning what he appreciates most about his time at Freed-Hardeman, Scott said, “I appreciate how often God makes Himself seen on the campus through the activities I choose to be a part of and the friendships He has blessed me with. He has provided encouragement, hope and love to me through relationships, late conversations and worship with my friends, and I will cherish Freed-Hardeman for being the place that fostered those opportunities.”
Miss FHU, Brenna Hobgood, is the daughter of FHU alumni Adam and Keri Hobgood and is majoring in social work. She has been heavily involved in the Xi Chi Delta social club, alternately serving as the club’s women’s president, vice president, community service representative and class representative. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school in order to pursue her master’s in social work.
“The thing I appreciate the most about Freed-Hardeman is the relationships I have made,” Hobgood shared. “FHU has given me friendships that I know are going to last a lifetime as well as strong, Christian mentors that I have been able to learn from over the last four years.”
Additional nominees for the title of Mr. FHU were Max Ballard, of Columbia, Tennessee; Garyson Campbell, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; and Carter Welch, of Henderson, Tennessee. Other nominees for Miss FHU were Mallorie Gardner, of Floyd, Virginia; Brylee King, of Neosho, Missouri; and Anna Mae Ramsey, of Tupelo, Mississippi.
