Baptist Carroll County recognized for excellent hospital safety
HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — The Leapfrog Group recently awarded Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County with a “Straight A” hospital safety grade.
The designation is awarded to hospitals that maintain an “A” grade for five or more consecutive grading cycles.
Leapfrog assigns letter grades from A to F to general hospitals nationwide, based on more than 30 measures of patient safety. The group updates grades twice a year, in the spring and fall.
Founded in 2000 by large employers and other purchasers, the Leapfrog Group is a national nonprofit organization driving a movement for giant leaps for patient safety.
“We are extremely proud of our team here at Baptist Carroll County,” said Anna Kilburn, nurse manager. “We strive for excellence here, and I think with this ‘A’ and the five consecutive ‘A’s we have received, this shows our hard work and our dedication to providing great quality care to our community and anyone who comes into our building.”
The hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical care to West Tennessee in a variety of specialized areas, including cardiac care, pediatrics, general surgery, physical therapy and palliative care, among others.
