JCM Football Preview

JCM Football Preview

Let’s kick off our first high school football preview with the JCM Cougars. They are coming off a season in which JCM started the year 6-0  and one of those wins
came off a last second touchdown to secure the commissioner cup. JCM also made a playoff appearance where they defeated the likes of Summertown and fell short to Milan in a one possession game on the
road. However, they ended the season  5-2 in the district and 9-3 overall. The cougars were a force to be reckoned with last season and not only were they able to hold most teams to 20 points or
less but offensively they scored 30 or more points in 6 of their games. We caught up with head coach Erit Turner and he spoke on how the identity of the team will change and now that they have established the foundation they can
allow their younger players to  develop.

“Working on improving from last year gotta find a new identity. We lost some good players but we got a lot of good players coming back so right now we are trying find out who we a are and when we find that out we just gone capitalize and improve on that. We’re fortunate now to
be in  a position that we dont have to depend on those talented freshmen to play right away going into year 5 we;ve got our numbers up enough so we can let the freshman be freshman and they can learn slowly instead of the pass we have to throw them in the fire.”
They’ll kick the season off
on August 22nd against the North Side Indians.
