This fun and free event is part of the local celebration of #731Day — a grassroots holiday inspired by the region’s 731 area code, where Jackson and other West Tennessee communities come together to show pride in their hometowns with special promotions and events.
More than 7,000 water balloons will be filled and ready for splash-filled action. In previous years, this event has drawn hundreds of kids and families, offering a joyful way to beat the summer heat.
Brooks Shaw, President of the Old Country Store and Casey Jones Village, shared his enthusiasm for the returning tradition:
“What better way to cool down from the heat and celebrate #731Day than with one of Jackson’s new traditions — the #731Day Water Balloon Fight! We are glad to have the event back in Casey Jones Village this year and look forward to welcoming kids of all ages to share in this special memory.”
The event has been made possible in years past with the generous support of local partners like Town & Country Realtors, and it continues to highlight the spirit of community that defines #731Day.
Families are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early and come prepared to get soaked — towels and a change of clothes are recommended. Participation is free and open to the public.
Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store is a multi-faceted destination welcoming more than 650,000 Guests each year. Located at 56 Casey Jones Lane in Jackson, Tennessee, it encompasses the restaurant, Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe, Miss Juanita’s Gift Shop and the Dixie Café Takeout, Dine-In and Drive-Thru.
