David Leonard Prine, Sr

David Leonard Prine, Sr. was born on September 29, 1951, in Winnsboro, LA to William Leonard Prine and Viva Dell Richmond Prine. He passed away on September 20, 2025, in Brownsville, TN surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. Jon Bell and Bro. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Brownsville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. in the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.

David’s passions were crappie fishing, hunting, working with his cows and tending to his garden. He was faithful to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by serving as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church until its untimely closing and currently serving as a deacon at Poplar Corner Baptist Church. He retired from Lasco in 2020 after 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Leonard Prine, his mother, Viva Dell Richmond Prine and one brother, Steve Prine.

David leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Jan Davis Prine, one son, David Leonard Prine, Jr. (Ollie) and one daughter, Stephanie Prine Lewis (Steve), one brother, Jeff Prine (Amy), Monroe, GA. He also leaves behind a legacy of five grandchildren, Katie Lewis, Harrison Lewis (Abby), William Prine, Maddy Prine Norris (Garrett) and Jamison Prine, along with one great granddaughter, Kennedy Norris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.  All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
