‘March of Dogs’ pet parade & costume contest returning

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — An annual event spotlighting our furry friends returns later this month.

Hardeman Adoptable Animals will present the 20th annual March of Dogs Parade & Pet Costume Contest on Saturday, October 25.

The family-friendly event is free to attend, and will include music, food trucks, carnival rides, and a free costume contest for pets.

Participants are encouraged to dress as flappers, gangsters, or vintage icons, as the event’s 20th anniversary will feature a “Roaring 20s” theme.

Parade registration begins at 10 a.m. at Vaughan Oil, located at 913 West Market Street. The parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m.

Following the parade, the pet costume contest will be held at 11 a.m. “on the Square.”

Hardeman Adoptable Animals is not affiliated with the Hardeman County Humane Society, and reminds that due to county ban, no pit bulls are allowed at the event.
