Palestine Church celebrates 200 years

HENDERSON, Tenn.—It was a day to remember at one Chester County church as it celebrates 200 years.

Palestine Church located at 350 Palestine Lane in Henderson hosted an event marking its 200th anniversary.

The celebration featured a special message from Pastor Anthony Rowland and afterwards a delicious lunch was provided for fellowship.

There were also guest evangelists in attendance and the congregation joined in joyful singing of prayer and worship music to celebrate the special occasion.

“It was organized as a Baptist church in 1825 and we’ve been here 200 years today. We’ve been through the Civil Wars and the Great Depression. We’ve been through all kinds of ups and downs. Our ancestors here are the ones that held this church together over the years. Today, we’re building from their legacy and we are what we are today because of the people that went before us,” said Pastor Anthony Rowland.

Palestine Church may be small and tucked back in the woods but its impact on the local community continues to be a big one.

Members hope to continue spreading the gospel for years to come.
