Billy was a proud member of Kirby Woods Deaf Church in Memphis as well as a former member of the Old Time Car Club in Memphis. Billy loved to spend his time fishing and with his family. He enjoyed showing old cars and working in the yard.
Billy walked through this world with a gentle strength and a spirit rooted in faith. He believed deeply in love, in service, and in finding joy in everyday blessings. His life was a testament to the power of kindness—quiet, steady, and unwavering. As a husband, he was a devoted partner; as a father, a guiding light; and as a friend, a constant source of warmth, humor, and encouragement. His laughter lifted spirits, his wisdom grounded the uncertain, and his presence reminded us all of the goodness in humanity.
We celebrate him not only for the years he was given, but for the beauty he created within those years—for the love he sowed, the faith he lived, and the countless moments of grace he shared with others. Though he has left our sight, his spirit continues to shine through the lives he shaped and the love he leaves behind.
Billy is lovingly remembered and celebrated by his devoted wife of 63 years, Clora Stone; one daughter, Brigitte “Angie” Kerby (Lyon); one grandchild, Alex Kerby; one brother, Rick Stone (Sheila); and one sister, Suzanne Atchison (Jim); one aunt, Peggy Adams; as well as multiple sister and brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He joins in eternal rest his parents, William Dudley and Doris Virginia Stone; as well as numerous grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Kirby Woods Baptist Church – Deaf Ministry
