Ceremony marks grand opening of Jackson Senior Center

JACKSON, Tenn. — The City of Jackson and Jackson Parks and Recreation hosted a dedication at the site of the new Jackson Senior Center.

The senior center offers classes and programs for seniors wishing to stay mobile. Inside the center is an activity room with several games for seniors to enjoy from bingo to scrabble and two pickleball courts.

The $3 million facility would not be complete without a very generous land donation from Jimmy Anderson.

“I just knew immediately, no question in my mind at all that this was a thing that I needed to do, so it was really for me it was nothing. I mean I was just so pleased to do it. It was beneficial to me too,” said Anderson.

The senior center is located at 29 Westwood Gardens Drive.
