Jackson stores, deal-seekers prepare for Black Friday shopping

JACKSON, Tenn. — Black Friday is just a few days away, and many of the stores in Jackson are participating as they always do.

According to a study by Wallethub, the average discount for Black Friday deals is 37%. They also list JCPenney, Belk, and Kohl’s in the top three for highest average discounts.

We were able to speak with the store manager at Kohl’s in Jackson about how they are feeling this time of year.

“Black Friday is really the official kickoff for the holiday shopping season,” said Matt Kent, Store Manager. “Our associates are excited and ready to welcome in customers this year, where they’re going to find incredible deals on top gifts for the family at budget friendly prices.”

Here is a list of some of our local stores and their hours of operation on Black Friday.

Kohl’s will be open from 5 a.m. until midnight. However, many of these stores are having deals all week long. Some have already started.

“New this year, we’re featuring our Black Friday deals all week long through Saturday. So plenty of time to come in and take advantage of these great prices,” Kent said.

If you are going to Kohl’s, there is some incentive to be one of the first people in line Friday morning — so you may want to get a good night’s sleep Thanksgiving night.

“Be sure to set your alarms and get here early,” said Kent. “Our first 200 customers will receive prize cards containing up to $100 in Kohl’s Cash that can be used the very same day.”

Kent also says that Black Friday shopping in Jackson is a tradition for so many people in our area, and they are happy to be a part of it.

According to Lendingtree, nearly two-thirds of Americans plan to do some form of Black Friday shopping.
