Ruby Jean Benard Ford
Ruby was born on May 6, 1936 in Brownsville, TN, the daughter of the late Howard Jetson Benard and Bessie Mae Privette Benard. She moved back to Jackson in 1970 and worked for Sears for many years. Afterward, she became a Special Education Assistant with the Madison County Board of Education. She also worked part time at the Jackson Clinic in the credit department.
She was also known as the Pizza Lady when she owned The Pizza Factory from 1983 to 1987. After her retirement at 65 she moved to Cottontown TN and lived with her daughter Jacky until her passing. She loved being a mother and a Great Nanny which was her name given to her by her grandson Kasey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ford; sisters, Betty Temple and Peggy Sencenbaugh; and brothers George Benard, Russell Benard, Jimmie Benard and Jackie Benard.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Rebecca Kratzer and Jacky Ford Kingsbury; son, Robert Ford; and four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Seaton (Tim).
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Ms. Ruby Ford will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Hollywood Cemetery in Jackson, TN. Burial will follow the service.
