JMCAACC Executive Director announces retirement

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. – Jackson Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce (JMCAAC) Executive Director Don A. McCorry has announced he will retire in 2026.

JMCAAC announced his retirement on Monday, December 15, 2025.

“It is with both gratitude and admiration that we announce the upcoming retirement of our Executive Director, Don A. McCorry, effective July 24, 2026,” according to a statement from JMCAAC.

McCorry has worked to expand the chamber’s programs and initiatives throughout the county. He also led the chamber during the 2020 COVID pandemic.

“Don has led our Chamber with vision, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to strengthening our business community. Under his leadership, we have expanded programs, built lasting partnerships, and advanced initiatives that continue to benefit our members and the region,” said the JMCAAC statement.

The JMCAAC  Board of Directors will now begin the search for an executive director to take the position following McCorry’s retirement in July. The board said while they conduct a search for a new director that the chamber will ensure a continuity of effective leadership. They also stated they would be work to honor McCorry’s legacy of leadership that he has done while being executive director.

The chamber announced they would provide updates regarding their search for a new director in the coming months. They are also asking for members and community residents to express their gratitude and appreciation for the work and service McCorry has given to the county.
