Health and fitness trends shifting as we enter 2026

JACKSON, Tenn. — The demand for cleaner food labels and functional workouts are pushing major fitness trends for 2026.

According to Lifetime Fitness, the mindset around strength training has shifted with more people focused on the longevity benefits.

Pilates and hybrid fitness is continuing to grow.

People are shifting away from just running or lifting to training both.

“One thing that we definitely fall short on is hitting our protein targets. I have people focus on real food first when they can, but the reality is, we’re busy, we’re on the go. Sometimes we do need convenient things,” said Lindsay Ogden, trainer and nutritionist.

Ogden says with so many supplements on the market, look for those that are third-party tested to ensure its effectiveness.
