Kadince Ferguson is a recent graduate from the university of tennessee Knoxville and she majored in public relations with a minor in business administration.

Ferguson is originally from Gibson County and she says that she was excited to get a job back home.

“I just love the heart behind the West Tennessee community, so I was happy to end up anywhere in West Tennessee,” said Ferguson.

Some of the job duties she has includes supporting existing businesses, attracting new investments, and making initiatives to strengthen economics of the county.

Ferguson says she grew up in a family of small business owners and she believes that communication will help business owners in the county.

“I’m a big believer in face-to-face communication, so I think what’s going to help people is going to these small businesses and meeting them and asking them what I can do to help them,” said Ferguson.

One of the chamber’s focuses is grants and Ferguson says grants is a huge benefit to the county. She tells us what she is looking forward to with her new job.

“I am really looking forward to making those small one on one connections,” said Ferguson.

Ferguson had an internship at The Mill Workspace this past summer in Dyersburg where she learned many skills and got to lead her own workshop. She said this helped her develop the skills needed for her new position at the chamber of commerce.

Ferguson wants to thank the Crockett County community for being so welcoming to her.
