How JMCGH is keeping doors open amid dangerous road conditions

JACKSON, Tenn. — The weekend winter storm has impacted much of West Tennessee, especially essential services.

At Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, operations are 24-7. With slick ice and snow, officials did not want to risk the lives of their employees. That’s why they’ve opted to utilizing sleep rooms for essential staff.

Amy Garner with West Tennessee Healthcare tells us their ground crews have been working to make sure patients and their families remain safe as they travel.

“We have grounds crews that help us with all of that. They’ve been out salting. They’ve been plowing. They’ve been out on the street as well, not just in our parking lot,” said Garner.

Garner says common injuries they’ve seen have ranged from slip and falls to car accidents.
