Local residents express concern over Jackson roads
JACKSON, Tenn.—Roadways throughout the City of Jackson have seen snow, sleet, ice, and the community is wondering when they will see asphalt.
Many people throughout the city have expressed frustration over slick and icy roads, as well as the city’s response.
Mayor Conger wrote on Facebook that ‘he hears the frustration and understands why people are upset.’
He said, ‘crews are still out there and they are continuing to work through areas that are iced over’ but ‘he still asks that the community respect people, working is dangerous conditions to improve them.’
We went downtown to hear from the community and how they feel about the state of the streets.
“I mean they’re getting better but black ice is going to come and it’s not going to be be very safe to be driving on these for the next couple of days,” said Jayden Atkins, Pedestrian.
When you see crews out there, be sure to be courteous and give as much room as you can while they continue to clear roads.
