City of Brownsville will no longer accept pennies

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — The City of Brownsville announced Monday that it will no longer be accepting pennies.

All cash payments will be rounded to the nearest 5 cents. This rounding policy only applies to cash payments.

Credit card, debit card, check, and online payments will continue to be processed to the exact cent.
