Gov. Bill Lee designates March Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month; March 12 is official celebration event
PRESS RELEASE FROM KEEP THE TENNESSEE BEAUTIFUL:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 27, 2026) – Gov. Bill Lee has once again designated March as Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month. The spring initiative spotlights KTnB’s litter programs including the launch of Tennessee’s Greatest American Cleanup, leading up to America’s 250th.
To celebrate the kick-off, KTnB will host a rally and awards luncheon from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. CDT, March 12, at Beale Street Landing in Memphis, Tenn.
The launch of Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month unites volunteers, partners, and communities across the state to make Tennessee cleaner, greener, and more beautiful. Tennessee’s Greatest American Cleanup, in cooperation with Keep America Beautiful’s nation-wide initiative, encourages volunteer participation through July 4, 2026, when America turns 250. Kanika Greenlee, KAB senior vice president, will bring remarks.
“We’re excited to host a volunteer rally to launch Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month and inspire the citizens of Tennessee to take the Greatest American Cleanup Community Pledge,” Executive Director Missy Marshall, Keep Tennessee Beautiful, said. “I want to thank Gov. Lee for continuing to support our organization. This year, especially, we are encouraging all our citizens to celebrate the power of partnership, community pride, and environmental stewardship leading up to America’s 250th.”
The March 12 program features the presentation of KTNB’s special awards, including The Love Where You Live and The Leader Against Litter Awards. In addition, The KTnB Three Grand Divisions Scholarships will be presented to nine outstanding high school seniors from across the state. These scholarships help continue to encourage environmental stewardship with Tennessee’s youth.
To kick-off 2026’s Greatest American Cleanup®, KTnB and Memphis City Beautiful will host a community wide cleanup from 9 – 11 a.m. CDT, March 13. Volunteers are invited to join the event at Robert Church Park in Memphis.
Keep Tennessee Beautiful Month and the Greatest American Cleanup® help accomplish the mission of KTnB: to educate and inspire Tennesseans to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment. RSVP here.
