Nettie Sue Barrett Hamilton
Nettie Sue Barrett Hamilton, was born on June 30, 1956, in Haiti, Missouri, and passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee. Her life was a testament to warmth, compassion, and an unyielding love for family, and she leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. All services are under the direction of the Bells Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nettie was a vibrant soul, known to be a talker who loved engaging with everyone she met. Whether sharing stories or offering a kind word, her conversations were life-enriching moments filled with genuine care. She had the heart of a nurturer and caregiver, always attentive to the needs of others, particularly when someone was sick or recovering in the hospital. Her presence brought comfort and solace like a gentle balm to weary hearts.
Music was one of her great joys, spanning the sounds of classic rock to country tunes. This love of melody was woven into her life’s fabric, reflecting her spirited and joyful nature. She also delighted in dining out, especially at Grecian’s Steakhouse in Dyersburg, where she enjoyed not just the food but the experience of being amongst family and friends.
Nettie proudly embraced the role of matriarch in her family. She loved her family and grandbabies deeply, and her pride in them was endless. She was a wonderful cook, a skill she wielded generously—everything she touched in the kitchen was delicious, a testament to her creativity and nurturing spirit.
Surviving Nettie are her loving husband of over two years, Brian Charles Hamilton, who stood by her side with devotion and love. Her family circle includes two sons, Jerry Paul Climer (and his wife Monica) and Anthony Climer (and his wife Nena), as well as her stepson Brian Charles Hamilton, Jr. Her bond with her sisters—Linda Faye Wilson, Juanita Volner, Marilyn Jean King, and Theresa Davis—remained a source of strength and companionship throughout her life.
Her legacy continues through her seven treasured grandchildren—Jonathan and Joey Climer, Heather Thompson, Dylan Snow, Caitlin Climer, Haley Mosley, and Phoebe Climer. Alongside them are three precious great-grandchildren: Adalynn Noel, Olivia Climer, and Myla Mosley, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Nettie’s closest confidante and best friend, Jana Lea, was a steadfast presence in her life, sharing in both laughter and tears. The bonds of friendship and family that Nettie nurtured were the cornerstone of her life and the true measure of her success and happiness.
Though Nettie has passed from this world, she leaves behind memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she loved and cared for. She was preceded in death by her father, William Barrett; mother, Bernice Faulkner Barrett; the father of her children, Jerry Climer; three brothers, William Barrett, Danny Ray Barrett, and Melvin Faulkner Jr.; her sister, Glenda May Eastwood; her devoted stepfather, Melvin Faulkner.
Nettie Sue Hamilton’s life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and joyful connection. She was a beacon of light and tenderness in the lives of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort, reminding us of the power of a loving heart and a generous spirit. May she rest in eternal peace, forever surrounded by the love she so freely gave.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Nettie Sue Hamilton will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the First Assembly of God in Alamo, TN
