Spring break in Jackson: Library story times, racecar day, and more planned for families

JACKSON, Tenn. — Spring break is underway this week for the Jackson-Madison County School System, and the Jackson-Madison County Library has daily programming lined up for children.

Jennifer Kilburn, a librarian with the Jackson-Madison County Library, said the library has activities scheduled most days of the week.

“We have something everyday, most days we have more than one thing, for kids to do,” Kilburn said. “We’ve got story times — we’re just going to do funny books, cause the theme is laughing — so that’s Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30.”

Special Saturday event planned

The library is also hosting a themed story time Saturday morning tied to International Racecar Driving Day.

“We’re gonna do a car themed story time, and we’ll pull out the Hot Wheels tracks and train tracks and things so kids of all ages can come play with that anytime on Saturday,” Kilburn said.

The library is not the only option for families during the break. Jackson is also home to parks, museums, and local attractions open throughout the week.

The Jackson-Madison County Library is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
