Early voting begins Wednesday for county primary election
Madison, Gibson and Henderson counties offer multiple locations and extended hours
JACKSON, Tenn. — Early voting for the primary election begins Wednesday in several West Tennessee counties.
Madison County information
In Madison County, there are 11 categories on the ballot with some divided by district along with positions.
The categories to be voted on in Madison County include county mayor, county commissioners, county trustee, general sessions judge, sheriff, circuit court, juvenile court, county clerk, register of deeds, school board and constables.
Early voting in Madison County will be held at 309 North Parkway in Jackson.
“Starting Wednesday we open at 9 and close at 4,” said Lori Lott, administrator of elections for Madison County. “On Tuesdays we’re open from 9 to 6 and then Saturdays from 9 until noon.”
Gibson County voting locations
In Gibson County, the positions on the ballot include county mayor, county commissioners, sheriff, circuit court, county clerk, constables and register of deeds.
According to the Gibson County Election Commission, there are three early voting locations for Gibson County residents.
Those locations include the Agri-Plex in Trenton, Medina City Hall and Rutherford City Hall.
Early voting at these locations will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays.
Henderson County early voting
Henderson County residents will also have the chance for early voting for some of the same positions as Madison County.
Early voting in Henderson County will be at the election commission office during their office hours with extended hours on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 6 and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
To participate in early voting, residents must be registered to vote and bring a photo ID that is issued by the state or federal government. Expired IDs are also acceptable.
Early voting for these counties lasts from Wednesday until April 30.
Crockett, Chester, Hardin and Carroll counties will also offer early voting for the county primary election.
Voting day for the county primary election is May 5.
