Nolan’s Nest Daycare offers second shift hours in Jackson
West Madison County childcare center provides care until midnight for parents working non-traditional hours
JACKSON, Tenn. — A new daycare in west Madison County is offering extended hours for parents who work beyond the traditional 9-to-5 schedule. Nolan’s Nest, a nursery and pre-kindergarten childcare center, opened in January. The business was named after owner Laquinthia Tate Bowers’ mother, who died of breast cancer in 2009.
“She was a first lady, so most of the time we had family come to the church, she was always willing and available to watch their little ones so they could enjoy the service here at the church,” Bowers said. “The building has been sitting since COVID, and not really being used, so I was thinking of a way to put the space to good use,” said Bowers.
The center offers care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. It is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Nolan’s Nest also provides second shift hours.
“We also offer second shift child care for those parents who need it,” Bowers said. “There hasn’t really been a need, but we are here and available for those parents who work second shift and need coverage until midnight.”
Bowers said it has been a joy to meet new people and have a chance to take care of their children.
“I’ve been enjoying it,” Bowers said. “It has given us a chance to meet a lot of new families who have come to take a tour of the daycare and the nursery, a lot of them have enrolled their children and have referred us to other families.”
