United Way of West Tennessee hosts 13th annual ‘First Ladies’ Luncheon’

Preview party at Jackson Fairgrounds Park kicks off celebration of women making a difference across the region

JACKSON, Tenn. — The United Way of West Tennessee held its annual preview party at Jackson Fairgrounds Park on Wednesday evening ahead of its premier fundraising event.  The 13th annual ‘First Ladies’ Luncheon’ welcomes more than 1,200 guests each year to celebrate the impact of women across the West Tennessee community.  The evening preview takes place the night before the luncheon at the Jackson Fairgrounds, offering guests a relaxed opportunity to experience the celebration.

“For the preview party tonight, we like to consider it more of a relaxed, laid-back feel,” said Lauren Cino. “It’s a party! You get to come and check out the tables a little early without the crowds of the luncheon tomorrow. It’s a time to mix and mingle, grab some wine, have some charcuterie, and have a good time.”

Guests had live entertainment by Lolo and D.J. Leslie. Attendees could also participate in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win prizes donated by local businesses.

“It’s a major fundraiser for United Way, which covers fifteen counties in west Tennessee,” said Anita Kay Archer.

Keynote speakers for the occasion this year are two representatives from United Way Worldwide.

“It’s an opportunity to bring 1,200 women together from across the region to connect, socialize, invest, and impact, and it’s really powerful,” Cino said.

“Our goal this year is $120,000 so we’re already a little over halfway to that goal, so we’re excited to see what we’ll accomplish through tonight and the luncheon tomorrow,” Cino said.

The organization will formally announce Cino as the new president and CEO of the United Way of ,West Tennessee. The 4th annual First Ladies’ Luncheon begins at the Jackson Fairgrounds, starting at 10:30 a.m.
