Shera Oshan Monroe

Mrs. Shera Oshan Monroe, 57, of Union City passed away 9:07 a.m. Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Complete arrangements will be announced.

Shera was born September 14, 1968, in Union City, daughter of Rube McElroy, III of Union City and the late Sherry (Crafton) McElroy.  She married Terry Monroe in 2010.  He passed away December 5, 2020.  She worked for Milan Prevention Coalition and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Union City.

She is also survived by one son, Kenneth Sims of Union City; one grandson, Hunter Sims of Holladay; three brothers, Donnie McElroy (Tammy) of South Carolina, Charles McElroy of Trenton and Christian McElroy of Kenton; two sisters, Annastazia McElropy (Nolan Johnson) of Kenton and Elizabeth Santos of Union City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby McElroy and Tony McElroy; and one sister, Ruby McElroy.
