Carl Perkins Civic Center opens ahead of incoming severe weather
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Carl Perkins Civic Center will open today at 4 p.m. as a safe place for anyone in need during Monday nights storms.
“Severe weather is unpredictable. What we can control is being ready and looking out for each other. If you don’t feel safe where you are, come on. No questions asked.” said Mayor Scott Conger.
The mayor also urges citizens to keep an eye on the weather and to not wait too long to make a decision if you need a safe space.
