Gamma Psi Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa celebrates Founders’ Day

JACKSON, Tenn.—A prominent sorority chapter here in the Hub City is celebrating another year of outstanding service to the community.

The Gamma Psi Chapter is celebrating Founders’ Day this weekend! The local chapter proudly belongs to the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Inc.

The organization celebrates 102 years of service to the community. This year’s event took place at Macedonia Baptist Church in Jackson.

At the event, sorority members and guests took time to recognize the achievements of outstanding students and celebrate deserving educators from the Jackson-Madison County and surrounding areas. The program highlighted those who have displayed excellence in their fields and have shown the upmost dedication to students.

“What we are doing is celebrating our annual Founders’ Day program. We will be recognizing some of the scholars in our high schools, as well as recognizing our Soror of the year,” said Geraldine Ewell, Co-chair, Founders’ Day Committee.

This year’s Founders’ Day also included a musical performance from the talented members of the Hardeman County Mass Choir.

The Gamma Psi Chapter is committed to making an impact in the community through service, guidance and leadership, as well as offering scholarship opportunities.
