SELMER, Tenn. — Officials in McNairy County say an SD card found at the scene of a fire shows images of a man leaving the house before flames engulfed it. Leah McGee, the woman who lived at the house, saw the photos for the first time on Monday. “I don’t know why I have all these feelings of anger and sadness and just everything rolled into one,” McGee said. The blaze sparked around 7 p.m. on New Year’s. McGee says just two days before the fire someone broke a window in her home. “So I set up a deer camera when I leave and to see if somebody else would come back and do that or something so that evidence is gonna help the police,” McGee said. Leah’s 7-year-old son says even though his family is now homeless, he’s trying not to let his baby sister know. “I don’t want her to feel sad and cry,” Ace McGee said. Leah says for now she’s staying at a hotel while her children live with their babysitter. “I want to protect them and I want to get our lives back together as soon as possible,” McGee said. “Because I don’t want them to feel so sad anymore.” The sheriff’s office says the photos will be sent to the state crime lab to in hopes of identifying the man.
