Sheriff: “We Cannot Determine Connection Between Two Deaths”

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver says they planned to talk to Martha Crowe’s distant cousin Alex Schewe on Sunday Afternoon. He lived across the street from her home, where she was found dead on Saturday. “Mr. Schewe told me Saturday night that he had plans and wouldn’t be at home, but would be home Sunday. We had no reason to doubt him,” says Weaver. But now they do. When deputies returned to Schewe’s house on Sunday, they couldn’t get a response. When his girlfriend came home, they walked inside together to find Schewe dead inside. With two deaths in less that 24-hours, residents in the Jack’s Creek community are questioning if they’re connected. At this time, the Sheriff’s Deptartment. cannot determine if they are associated. Weaver says neither Crowe or Schewe had a criminal history in Chester County, leaving residents like Clinton Wade with a lot of questions. “It’s just a shock to everybody that I’ve talked to for it to happen here,” says Wade. He says they look out out for each other. “It just happens and I don’t know any way to stop it.” Sheriff Weaver says this is the first homicide Chester County has investigated since 2009. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Chester County Sheriff’s Dept.
